Donald Trump vs Joe Biden

The “Stop the Steal” movement is made up of supporters of former President Donald Trump who believe that the 2020 election was fraudulent and are pushing for legal challenges to be investigated. At a White House press conference, President Trump declared that he was the true winner of the election and that there was widespread voter fraud. He then launched the “Stop the Steal” movement to support his claims. Despite the Supreme Court denying Texas’s request to file a lawsuit on the matter, Trump and his supporters remain steadfast in their belief that the election was stolen. The country seems to be dividing along political lines, with some Republicans supporting the movement and others opposing it. Trump supporters are passionate in their belief and are holding rallies across the country. Despite the court’s decision, they remain convinced that the election was stolen and that it was rigged through the use of voting machines.

The judges are accused of unfairly handling Trump’s case because they fear the consequences of going against the thousands of Trump supporters who marched and protested. There was even a shooting incident reported, according to Chris Loftis. If this situation is not addressed, it may escalate.

According to some views, if only legal votes are counted, Trump would have won, but if illegal votes are included, Biden would have won through election theft and fraud. It is also important to note that many votes were received late. The Republican Party claims to have clearly lost some state elections, including a significant defeat in Florida by 897,672 votes and Iowa by 5,668,731 votes.

The current President Biden won against Trump in Arizona by a margin of 3% or 10,457 votes. Kelli Ward, chair of the Arizona Republican Party, examined a small sample of ballots and found some irregularities. Her state lawsuit was dismissed, but she plans to file a new case and prove the fraud in court. She aims to challenge the election results in the U.S. Supreme Court.

According to the Republicans, they are not challenging the election results because they do not want to accept their defeat. However, they argue that the court must acknowledge the vote-counting irregularities in Maricopa County and the fraud during signature verification.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recognized Biden as the new President and congratulated him. He publicly rejected Trump’s denial of the election results. This statement implies that McConnell’s personal interests, not the public’s, were behind his refusal to support Trump.

McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, is tied to the Chinese Communist Party through her family’s shipping business, the Foremost Group. McConnell and Elaine have received millions of dollars from James Chao as gifts until last year. Elaine’s family has also donated over $1 million to McConnell’s re-election campaign. According to reports, Elaine’s Department of Transportation has repeatedly tried to reduce funding for programs that support domestic American vessels and train American seamen.

Trump criticized McConnell’s support of Biden’s victory while Republicans are upset. McConnell not only supported Biden but also advised Senate Republicans not to challenge the Electoral College votes, as he believed it would divide and harm the party. However, there may be other motives behind his rejection of Trump’s actions.

Martin warned the Republican Party that it will be difficult to mobilize voters without Trump on the ballot and even more challenging if candidates do not support the President’s efforts to challenge the election results.

If the American public, investors, workers, and consumers want China to steal intellectual property and the U.S. to stop raising tariffs, it is not difficult to imagine how McConnell and Biden feel about it. Family and business ties formed during good U.S.-China relations may face increased scrutiny as both leaders prepare for re-election in 2020. Biden is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination and McConnell is the Republican Senate Majority Leader seeking re-election in Kentucky.

The current political situation is damaging to the healthy constitutional culture in which leaders and citizens respect the Constitution’s authority. However, the Constitution can only work if it is upheld. The focus must be on preserving the unity of the Republican Party. Supporting those who are challenging the election fraud can prevent further division. If leaders only prioritize their own interests, democracy will continue to suffer. The court should make decisions based on justice.
