Pranay was the only son of a great businessman. His father was famous in the whole country due to having business terms with high-ranked governors. When he completed his 12th grade, he was admitted to the top college in the country. He was excited to make new friends. His father was too proud of his richness, and he always taught his son to develop a friendship with the boys of his status, but Pranay was a different kind of person. He didn’t like the class-difference pride.
When Pranay came to college, all students were willing to develop a friendship with him due to his standard. One student came to him and said, “Hi Pranay, my father is also a great businessman like yours. We can be good friends.”
Pranay calmly responded, “I don’t make friendships based on status. I want good-hearted friends who will love me, not with my status.”
In the class of Pranay, the son of a clerk named Raghav studied. He became alone all the time. Nobody talked to him due to his low class and always degraded him. One day Pranay’s driver became late. He was sitting on the college ground. He saw a Raghav sitting behind the tree with a lot of depression and disappointment on his face. He asked Raghav what happened.
Raghav: I think I’m not capable of talking with you. I’m the son of a poor father; that’s why I deserve no respect and love.
Pranay: Oh! It’s not like that. Being human, we all are equal. You don’t need to be depressed. We can be friends.
From that day, both became friends. After spending some days with Raghav, Pranay felt that he was such a hearted person and deserved respect.
After some days, Pranay got sick. Raghav got worried and wanted to meet him.
Raghav to his father: Papa, I want to go to Pranay’s house to care for himself.
Father: No, my dear son, I know him very well, his father. He doesn’t like poor people. He’ll not allow you to enter his house. The one thing you can do is to pray for him.
Raghav’s eyes became wet with tears of pain and helplessness. One day, he saw in the newspaper that the son of a famous worldwide businessman was facing too severe conditions in the ICU. When he saw the picture, he was shocked to see that he was Pranay. Without thinking, he ran towards the hospital. When he reached there, he saw the guards standing outside the room where Pranay was admitted. He requested guards to allow him inside.
Guards: You poor person! Our owner will not allow you to enter.
Raghav: Please! Let me go. He is not my friend but my brother. I’m so hurt. Please!
Guard: Go away. Don’t try to build relations with rich people.
Raghav pushed Guard and tried to move inside by force. Guards insulted and pushed him outside.
Doctors told Pranay’s father due to the end stage of Anemia, they needed AB- blood in an emergency in one day only, but they could not have that. Pranay’s father was too proud of his wealth. He thought that he could buy anything with his money. He gave an ad in the newspaper that the blood donor would be given a heavy amount. But that didn’t work. Not a single donor was found. He thought he could easily bring blood from abroad, but doctors told him that it was impossible to get blood from abroad in one day.
When Raghav heard the news in the newspaper, he went to the hospital. Guards were staring at him as he came again. He told the Guards about the news in the newspaper and told the Guards that he wanted to meet Pranay’s dad in that case.
Pranay’s Dad: Oh! You poor person, what do you want to tell me? Do you think you are capable of helping us, a third-class clerk’s son?
Raghav: My blood matches with Pranay. I want to donate.
Pranay’s Dad became red with embarrassment and happiness. He felt like his voice paused for a moment.
Pranay’s Dad: Yyyuu! You’ll help my son.
Raghav donated the blood, and within a few days, Pranay became healthy.
From that day, Pranay’s dad learned that we should respect and love people not based on their class but based on their hearts and kindness. A person’s standard can be lowered, but the person’s good heart always remains the same.
